Theresa Asepermy PilasErika Salinas is coordinating a memorial golf tournament for her grandmother, Teresa Asepermy Pilas. The tournament will take place on March 8th, 2008 at the William Land Golf Course in Sacramento. See the attached file for more information.

March 8th, 2008 is the date for Running is My High, a 10K and 5K walk run event sponsored by the Healthy Nation's Wellness Center in Oakland, CA. Click for information and registration.
The Sacramento Music and Dance Festival is now accepting applications from dance groups and musical performers for its September 2008 festival. The application deadline is March 7th, and auditions are in April.
Visit Pacific Western Traders in Folsom to view the Traditional Pomo Cultural Arts exhibit from March 1st to April 6th. Featured artists include Meyo Marrufo, Denise and Luwana Quitiquit from Robinson Rancheria.

In an effort to reduce its $14.5-billion deficit, California will close 48 parks and museums in the state. The reduction will save $17 million per year, but eliminate 139 full time jobs throughout the state. Save the State Parks is attempting to stop the closures, and is asking Californians to sign petitions.
The C.N. Gorman Museum, located at UC Davis, exhibits artwork by contemporary Native American and Indigenous artists in a wide range of media. The museum currently has an amazing Navajo Nation Cinema show and the spring show will feature the work of Robert Davidson and his family, including pieces by Charles Edenshaw.

The Society for California Archaeology is hosting its 2008 meeting on April 17th to 20th in Burbank, CA. The Native Programs Committee is sending up to five California American Indian people to the meeting. Click for application information and the SCA website.
